Event Summary

Narrative

A strong low level shortwave swung through the Northeast with a trough at the surface. A line of strong, with embedded severe thunderstorms formed along the trough and pushed through the area late in the afternoon into the evening. Some of these storms produced heavy rainfall, which resulted in flash flooding in Brooklyn. Several cars were stuck in flood waters in the neighborhood of Red Hook.
